The Nandanvan Jungle Safari is spread across 800 acres of lush greenery and offers scenic landscapes enriched with several indigenous plant species that create a natural habitat for wildlife.A highlight of the safari is the 130-acre Khandwa Reservoir, a beautiful water body that attracts many species of migratory birds, making it a paradise for nature and bird lovers alike.
What is Safari?
- A safari is not just a ride, but an immersive journey into the world of wildlife. Unlike traditional zoos, animals here live in open, expansive areas resembling their natural habitats. Visitors explore these landscapes in designated vehicles that move at low speeds, creating a safe yet thrilling opportunity to observe animals closely in a free-range environment.
- The entire safari area is secured by a 5-meter-high chain link fence (with a 1.5-meter extension bent inward at 60 degrees) for animal safety. Inside, dense vegetation, water bodies, and green belts ensure both comfort for animals and a natural experience for visitors. Over 55,000 saplings have been planted to further enhance the habitat.

Visitor Experience
- Visitors enter each safari zone through a double-gated system. Vehicles then move slowly along designated tracks, ensuring maximum safety while maintaining an authentic wildlife experience. Unlike a zoo where cages separate people and animals, here the boundary fades, creating a sense of being “inside the jungle.”
